Clothing and Accessories
At Minneapolis Community and Technical College (MCTC) I pursued an Assc. Degree in Apparel Technologies, graduated in 2024. I learned here that successful designers had to be thoroughly knowledgeable about materials and construction, while being deeply curious about craft. At MCTC I forced myself to leave perfectionism behind and pursue a quicker process of completing projects to see the mistakes and it how the affected the results. This allowed me to pick up the skill of failing. As I was no longer worried about failure I was able to understand my learning outcomes doubled. My stitching became faster and neater. My pattern making neater and streamlined. These skills have carried with me from flat work to furniture as I came to understand the final product only came from various issues that illuminate the failures of a product.
Below are a handful of the garments, accessories, and bags that have been realized from sketch to mock-ups to realized products. These items focus around the brand language of my brand 'Covet'.
