For my final semester at MCTC I was required to create a cohesive fashion collection that practices the lessons learned throughout my time there. I chose to make my collection a series of white tops and blue jeans, to practice my design language through materials, silhouettes, and embellished themes. The subject of white tops and blue jeans was intentionally done to encapsulate my excitement of experimenting with patterns; as many designer before me. This color scheme as well allowed for the subversive nature of the garments. Taking inspiration from items like military uniforms and football jerseys and approaching them in such a way that subdues the masculinity. In a similar way I chose to play with the forms of denim creating a full length skirt that embraces femininity without stepping the masculine nature of workwear. In each of these pieces there was an attempt to take a garment that was familiar and alter it enough to serve a new purpose.
